Goal |
The mission of Artvin Çoruh University Graduate Education Institute is to ensure that graduate students studying in various branches are trained to perform their professions (lecturer, researcher and other) in the best way possible. |
| Degree to be Earned | Having taken at least 21 credits (equivalent to 60 ECTS) of courses available in the graduate programs of the department or other related departments and successfully completed all of them, obtained a weighted grade point average of at least 2.5 out of 4.00, prepared in a field related to the subject and been successful by a selected jury. Students who successfully defend a thesis listed are awarded a master's degree in BIOLOGY. |

1 - A bachelor's degree from an acceptable field, 2 - Having received the required score from the graduate entrance exam (ALES). |

History |
It was established in 2009 under the name of Artvin Çoruh University, Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Science Joint Programs Biology. Department of Biology was established in 2010 and started education. Our department was closed by department decision in 2015 after producing graduates for one semester. As of 20.01.2016, a Master's Degree Program was opened in the Department of Biology affiliated with the Institute of Science. Since the 2015-2016 Fall semester, our graduate program has been providing graduate level education. As of 2020, the Institute of Graduate Education educates graduate students. |
| Graduate Employment Opportunities | The Department of Biology trains its students to be employed in many fields where biology is used. The stakeholders that the Department of Biology interacts with and is asked to interact with can be summarized as TÜBİTAK, DPT, various institutions affiliated with Ministries, Universities, Research Institutions, Institutes, Alumni, and Biologists Association. |
| Exams, Surveying and Evaluation | Students are subject to midterm, seminar and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. |

Program Profile |
The main goal of the Department of Biology is; To train biologists who have the knowledge and skills to define, explain, apply, make decisions and teach the basic principles of four sub-departments (General Biology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology) and have all the authorities and responsibilities provided by law. |
| Qualification Requirements | Students with a bachelor's degree in Biology and Biology Teaching can apply within the field. |
